MHSC Involvement in Election Year 2010
The MHSC participated in educating themselves and the community about the candidates in several ways including a primary candidate questionnaire, co-sponsoring two community candidate forums, and having candidates attend their October meeting. Below are highlights of three of the activities.

1. Primary Questionnaire
Click here to see the candidate responses to the questionnaire jointly put out by the Daily News and the MHSC. This is the final version (uploaded 7/20/10 at 3:22pm).

2. "Visions for A Better Michigan" Community Primary Candidate Forum
On July 27, 2010 the MHSC co-sponsored a community candidate forum at MTEC in Greenville. Other event co-sponsors included The Daily News, Women's Action Network, Montcalm Community College, and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce. Another forum focused on the Fall General Election is being planned for Tuesday, October 26 at MTEC. More information to follow.

And here are some pics...

3. "Visions for A Better Michigan" Fall Community Candidate Forum

On October 26, 2010 the MHSC co-sponsored a community candidate forum at MTEC in Greenville. Other event co-sponsors included The Daily News, Women's Action Network, Montcalm Community College, and the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Candidates that attended included: Blanding, Walker; Huckleberry, Outman; Emmons, Hoisington; and Campbell. We thank the candidates for participating.

In addition, the event planning group planted seeds for youth involvement that were fruitful. The Greenville Public Schools' AP Government class ran a forum preceding ours for the Montcalm Township officials and city council candidates and some Montcalm Community College students put together a educational table on Proposal One: Consitutional Convention.
